As a member of the pool you will be approved to be an Off-site Practice Educator and offered assessment work as required by the Council. Students may be from Leicester University, De Montfort University, Open University and Step up to Social Work programme. A fixed fee per placement day is paid on completion of the students learning curriculum and receipt of the final assessment report. Placements vary in length from 70-100 days, usually starting in Sept/Oct or Jan/Feb each year. Off-site Practice Educators must be able to travel to different locations to supervise students. Essential Qualification Requirements: You must have a social work degree or CQSW, hold current HCPC registration and hold the Practice Educator Award Stage 2 or equivalent. Certification must be provided along with your submission. Details of Proposal: The Off-site Practice Educator will: offer supervision, support and assessment which ensure the students have completed the Social Work Degree requirements for the placement. The Practice Educator is responsible for identifying learning needs and where a student is unable to meet the required standard will work within university policy and procedure in relation to failing students. will participate in the Learning Agreement meeting and mid-way meeting (and final meeting if required) with the tutor, student and on -site supervisor. The Practice Educator is responsible for writing the midway report and final reports, as specified in the learning curriculum. Copies of the mid-way report and final report should also be provided to WD. Deadlines for the completion of reports must be met. The tutor and WD must be informed about any concerns or delays as soon as possible will inform WD of any concerns about an individual student, or complications during the placement. The Off-site Practice Educator must discuss these with the student, the tutor and on-site practice supervisor. will complete the QAPL practice placement feedback form and submit to the University and WD at the end of the placement Supervision - the Off-site Practice Educator will: meet with the student at least fortnightly for an hour and a half. The Off-site Practice Educator must be in a position to be able to provide weekly supervision if this is required. A supervision record must be completed and signed by the student and be submitted to WD at the mid-way point and end of the placement ensure that the student receives weekly supervision from either the Off-site Practice Educator or the On-site Supervisor. have at least fortnightly contact (by telephone or e-mail) with the on-site practice supervisor and meet with the on-site practice supervisor at least three times during the placement.
