Description
The Council is seeking to implement a new Vehicle Management System (VMS) that expands upon the existing tracking systems’ functionality by interfacing with vehicles’ engine management systems and other vehicle specific sensors. This data will then feed back in the form of raw data, graphical interface and reports. These reports should help identify bad practices, poor performance and minimise operational inefficiencies. The Council is looking to procure a fully managed VMS and the contract is expected to deliver a high standard of maintenance and support, allowing for the deployment of VMS on a call-off basis, commencing with the conversion of the existing enabled vehicles.
The Council is looking for the VMS to be scalable and adaptable to meet current and future challenges. The Council is looking to provide functionality for employees to access documentation ‘on site’ and is looking for a solution that permits the Councils own ICT infrastructure to ‘piggy-back’ on the solutions data connection in the future.
The Council also requires the VMS reporting system to update the Councils main website automatically with suitable protected updates as to Council operations.
Other Local Authorities within the East Midlands area may be interested in buying off this contract, in particular the City of Lincoln Council and South Kesteven Council.
